Homebuyer Counseling and Education Providers Several local organizations and other government agencies provide counseling to individuals and families looking to purchase a home in Oakland and the Bay Area, or for individuals and families who may have received a notice of default or a foreclosure notice.
Participating Lenders Contact a community loan officer at one of our Participating Lenders to determine if you qualify for the MAP or CalHome program, the purchase price of the home, and to pre-approve you for mortgage financing.
CalHome Program The CalHome Program partners with lenders to assist low-income, first-time homebuyers with buying a home in the City of Oakland.
Loan Servicing Department The Loan Servicing Unit is tasked with servicing loans provided under our First Time Homebuyer and Housing Rehabilitation Programs. The Loan servicing team assists customers with all mortgage related inquiries and offers in person consultation by appointment. We also service Housing and Community Development Projects, and other Housing related loans provided by the City of Oakland.
Lead-Safe Homes Program (LSHP) The Lead-Safe Homes Program provides free risk assessment for lead hazards, painting services to qualified owner-occupied low- and moderate-income households.
