Onboarding Activities

All new full-time (FT), part-time partial (PTP), and part-time to temporary (PTT) should attend New Employee Orientation (NEO).

NEO Objectives

To welcome new employees to the City of Oakland by helping them understand the overall vision and values of the city
To help employees understand the value of their work and their role in the larger organization
To develop an employee who is well-informed, well-prepared and aware of how their role as a public servant supports the entire community
To provide resources and tools to support them in their success as a City of Oakland employee
