Apply for a Self Haul Permit

Oakland businesses and residences can apply for a self-haul permit if they wish to transport their own trash, compost, and recycling to a city-approved facility.

Submit completed application to Recycling@oaklandca.gov

• Self-haul permits last for 12 months and must be renewed annually.
• The review fee for new applications is $910.82. The annual renewal fee is $607.21. These fee amounts are subject to change annually.
• Property inspections may be conducted by the City.
