State and local laws require certain people in government to share information about their personal finances. These rules help prevent conflicts of interest by making sure officials' private interests don’t get in the way of their public duties. The Public Ethics Commission collects and reviews these financial forms from candidates, political groups, lobbyists, and certain City workers and officials. These forms are public records and can be viewed online.
